Flash Back, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

The most recent race I completed (the first since my freshman year of college) was the Susan G. Komen Race for the cure on April 11, 2010 in Spokane, WA. It was only a 5K, but it was challenging after not racing for so long, I was getting my ass handed to me by tons of amazing women and I didn't mind at all! :) The atmosphere was electric, and everyone was there to be supportive and have a good time.

... more recently my feet have been on the run along the Oregon coast!!! I love the beach, most especially the dark sands of the Oregon coast where I have gone on so many trips with my family. More recently my mom and I went on a road trip together. This was an important trip because it gave us tons of quality time and we both knew it would probably be the last trip like this for quite a while; because I will be moving to Federal Way in August of this year. My mom and I are very close, and I will always enjoy the memories from that trip.

I like this poem, check it out

unadulterated adventure with a touch of spookiness and history, I love it!

keep on keepin' on

though i may not feel like "smiling on my brother" this venture, for those who follow, has a purpose. said purpose is to pursue life in a fast lane 4mph over the speed limit (to avoid being pulled over, but just fast enough to feel like one is making better progress) while still maintaining a level of truth to myself. so, i am smelling the roses and literally running for my sanity. this blog is meant to document the aforementioned riot of activity so that I can read into my thought process throughout and somehow derive spiritual/emotional benefits from my experiences... notice the optimism :)

i have a race coming up on Sunday in Spokane, WA. Bloomsday, to those who are northwest race savvy. apparently there is a part of the race affectionately dubbed "doomsday hill"... needless to say I am looking forward to suffering through and conquering that bastard. more on this later.
